PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Tanya joined the firm in 2006 as a Trainee Solicitor working within family, crime and property before qualifying in 2008. Tanya became a partner in 2014. Tanya stepped down as a director in 2026 but continues to lead the Family Team.
SPECIALISMS
Tanya has specialised in all areas of family work including divorce, financial matters and children matters throughout her career. Tanya now specialises in representing children in court proceedings and continues to work as a family mediator.
Tanya is one of the few solicitors in Darlington also trained as a collaborative practitioner. Tanya also completed training as a mediator in 2011 and became accredited in 2016.
Tanya is a member of the Association of Lawyers for children and Resolution.
Tanya is Children Panel Accredited which means she represents the interests of children in court proceedings.
In 2022 Tanya was also invited to join the Resolution Committee for Legal Aid.

Tanya is particularly interested in offering clients a range of ways to think about resolving disputes.
Tanya now specialises in representing children in proceedings issued by Local Authorities and in cases in disputes between parents.
Tanya prides herself on being a friendly and approachable solicitor for people experiencing difficulties in their lives.
ACCREDITATIONS
Tanya is a member of Resolution which is a membership group of family practitioners.
Tanya is also a specialist Alternate Dispute Resolution practitioner, having trained as a collaborative practitioner and is now an accredited mediator with the Family Mediation Council.
Tanya is a member of the Children Panel and Association of Lawyers for children.
Tanya is a committee member on the Resolution Legal Aid Committee.
