The Role

A vacancy has arisen for an experienced Residential Property fee earner to join our busy Property team at Northallerton or Darlington to undertake the broad spectrum of residential property work.  The Residential Property team is a highly skilled, expert team, currently comprising of 5 fee-earners and their respective support teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing a full caseload of freehold and leasehold residential property transactions from instruction to completion.
  • Liaise with clients (both individuals and companies), estate agents, brokers and mortgage lenders.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Qualified Solicitor, CILEX / Licensed Conveyancer
  • Minimum 2 years PQE in Residential Property
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Strong technical knowledge of all aspects of Residential Property Law
  • Sound technical skills in the following areas:
    • Microsoft Office IT skills - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
    • Proven document or case management skills

Role: PA / Secretary to Directors - Private Client
Location: Darlington / Northallerton

The Role

A vacancy has arisen for a experienced Private Client assistant to directly support the Directors in the Private Client team at either our Darlington or Northallerton office. The Private Client team is a dynamic, growing team within Clark Willis with currently 4 fee earners and 1 support member of the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Diary management responsibilities including making appointments, organising meetings.
  • Triage of new clients across the team.
  • File management responsibilities. Opening and closing files including ensuring filing systems are maintained accurately and up to date.
  • Proactive client liaison including taking messages, passing on information and dealing with simple queries.
  • Work collaboratively with other secretarial support to provide a responsive and professional secretarial support service to fee earners and clients.
  • Management and co-ordination of the fee earners' billing and financial requirements.
  • Audio and copy typing of legal documentation and correspondence, to a high standard.
  • Manage the production of all documents (even those not typed personally) from initiation to delivery back to the relevant fee earner.
  • Organising conference or meetings calls on behalf of the fee earner.
  • Preparing client engagement letters, conflict and money laundering checks at the direction of the fee earner.
  • Dealing with and filing and storing Wills and forms i.e HMRC.
  • Responsible for copying, scanning required by the fee earner, including the preparation of files.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Experienced Private Client assistant.
  • Must possess excellent diary management, organisation and prioritisation skills.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and build good relationships with clients and staff within the firm.
  • Sound technical skills in the following areas:
  • Microsoft Office IT skills - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Proven document or case management skills
